Ingredients:
- 200g of basmati rice
- 150g of chicken, cut into pieces
- 1 medium onion, finely sliced
- 2 cloves of garlic, minced
- 1 inch ginger, grated
- 1 tablespoon of biryani masala
- 1/2 teaspoon of turmeric powder
- 1/2 cup of plain yogurt
- 2 tablespoons of ghee
- 1/4 cup of chopped cilantro
- Salt to taste
- 2 cups of water
Kitchen Tools Needed:
- Large pot
- Frying pan
- Lid
- Spatula
- Measuring cups
- Knife
Instructions:
- Heat ghee in a large pot over medium heat and fry onions until golden brown.
- Add garlic and ginger, sauté for another minute until fragrant.
- Stir in the chicken pieces and cook until they turn white.
- Add biryani masala, turmeric powder, and salt; mix well and cook until chicken is fully cooked.
- In a separate pot, bring 2 cups of water to a boil, then add basmati rice and cook until rice is half done.
- Drain the rice and layer it over the chicken mixture in the first pot.
- Add yogurt and cilantro over the rice, cover the pot with a lid, and cook on low heat for about 15-20 minutes until rice is fully cooked and flavors are blended.
