Ingredients:

  • 200g of basmati rice
  • 150g of chicken, cut into pieces
  • 1 medium onion, finely sliced
  • 2 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 1 inch ginger, grated
  • 1 tablespoon of biryani masala
  • 1/2 teaspoon of turmeric powder
  • 1/2 cup of plain yogurt
  • 2 tablespoons of ghee
  • 1/4 cup of chopped cilantro
  • Salt to taste
  • 2 cups of water

Kitchen Tools Needed:

Instructions:

  • Heat ghee in a large pot over medium heat and fry onions until golden brown.
  • Add garlic and ginger, sauté for another minute until fragrant.
  • Stir in the chicken pieces and cook until they turn white.
  • Add biryani masala, turmeric powder, and salt; mix well and cook until chicken is fully cooked.
  • In a separate pot, bring 2 cups of water to a boil, then add basmati rice and cook until rice is half done.
  • Drain the rice and layer it over the chicken mixture in the first pot.
  • Add yogurt and cilantro over the rice, cover the pot with a lid, and cook on low heat for about 15-20 minutes until rice is fully cooked and flavors are blended.

  • 50g of granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 30g of unsalted butter (melted)
  • 1/2 tsp of baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp of vanilla extract
  • a pinch of salt
  • 30ml of milk

Instructions:

  • Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F).
  • In a mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, unsweetened cocoa powder, granulated sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  • In another bowl, whisk together the egg, melted butter, vanilla extract, and milk until smooth.
  • Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and mix until well combined, but do not overmix.
  • Grease a small cake pan and pour the cake batter into the pan.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for about 25 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

  • 30g of spring onions
  • 1 clove of garlic, minced
  • 30ml of soy sauce
  • 15ml of sesame oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions:

  • Rinse the jasmine rice under cold water until the water runs clear. Cook the rice according to the package instructions and set aside.
